BayCoast Insurance Supports Equity in Education

Article written by Arbella Insurance Group

Paul C. Burke, Vice President of BayCoast Insurance, has worn many hats over the course of his career. He has served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, a member of the Swansea Finance and Advisory Board, a pilot with Angel Flight New England, Town Moderator and Town Selectman – all while owning, growing, and managing one of New England’s leading insurance agencies. Paul attributes many of these accomplishments to his education.

“Education changed my life,” Paul said. “I never wanted to take that for granted. I wanted to give back. So when the opportunity to help start the Argosy Collegiate Charter School arose, I didn’t hesitate.”

A New Beginning: The Argosy Collegiate Charter School

Argosy Collegiate Charter School is a nonprofit public charter school that provides each student with the opportunity to succeed in college, career, and life. “The school is designed to level the playing field for its scholars and to set them up for a college degree without being saddled by debt.”

Paul agreed to join and lead the founding Board of Trustees for Argosy Collegiate in 2012. As Board Chair, Paul collaborated with many people and businesses, including the Arbella Insurance Foundation, to move the work forward.

“The Arbella Insurance Foundation very generously supported the school from the start, and now it’s a huge success. The Foundation continues to support our vision to get all our scholars to and through college with as little debt as possible, prepared for the workforce. We already have two alumni attending Harvard University on full scholarships, and I’m excited to see the program continues to place alumni on college campuses.”

Staying Involved

“Becoming an arbella agent was one of the best things to happen to me,” Paul Said. “arbella came into the industry to help agents, and they have always considered the agents to be true partners. You hear it all the time, but it’s not just marketing. It’s the truth.”

Paul and BayCoast Insurance support the communities they serve in many ways. Their employees are deeply committed to the community, donating and volunteering to the causes that are most meaningful to them. “Everybody at the agency is involved in one way or another,” Paul said. “When you volunteer, you get more back than you give. That’s the best part. I’ll continue to be involved as long as they’ll have me.”
